Hello
A little history of my VW Golf.
2011 Purchased late 2011
2012 Shuddering gearbox. Dealer checked and gave all clear.
2013 VW recall to replace mechatronics
2014 Shuddering returns: VW replace clutch
2016 Engine fails; engine rebuilt. Luckily still under extended warranty. Bill $6500 I pay $600+
2017 Engine fails again; VWA replace engine, supply replacement car. Car repaired at no charge. Excellent response from VWA.
2019 Sudden loss of power on busy road. Engine fine, but no power. Luckily could roll down hill and park.
No lights and no warning, just nothing. RACV suggest towing to nearest dealer. Two days later I ring the dealer to ask about diagnosis. Mechatronics failure.
'We have requested VWA repair."
I love this car btw, but although the car in serviced regularly by exVW mechanics, it keeps failing, major failures at that.
I won't hear back from VWA until Tuesday, but wondered if my situation was totally unusual; has anybody heard of such failures before? I'd also like to gauge opinion about the likelihood of VWA coming to the party.
Thanks in advance, Wolfie.
