    2020 Golf R owner

    Hi all,
Just picked up a low km 2020 R (1 week ago). Very happy with the fit/finish and performance, until today, when the wife called to say that it won’t start and is throwing multiple errors. Will have a look when I get home, but I suspect battery issues. Anyhow…. that’s what led me here, to do some learning.
    Cheers
    Skippy.

Gday and welcome. If the previous owner has been using the start/stop system then most of those batteries are dying after about 3-4years as they get a workout.

Its about $350-400 for a decent replacement battery such as this: SUPERCHARGE START STOP MF66HSS AGM 760 CCA 36 MONTH WARRANTY BATTERY. – The Battery hub

Or this one: N70 Varta EFB 12V 760CCA Start Stop & Dual Purpose - Every Battery

I've got the Supercharge one in my Mk7 GTI and its being going for 3+ years now, although I have disabled the start/stop function and also put the battery onto a smart charger every week or two to keep the battery health as good as can be.
