Hi there and thanks for having me here.

This is the second Passat CC I have owned. The first one I had was a 2011 model in Iron Grey, his name was Thing. I got rear ended at high speed end of July this year and he was written off (the rear chasis was damaged so I opted for a write off). I was heartbroken as I had no intention of getting rid of him at all anytime soon.

Fast forward to yesterday I brought home my new one, a 2012 CC in black, his name is Reno

Here is a small video I made of him and the things I wanted advice on. The music is just for fun (just pretend they're singing little Passat CC lol)

First and foremost is the Reverse Camera. In my old CC it had dynamic guidelines when put in reverse (it stopped working after a while and I deemed it too expensive to fix at 2k+) The new CC when reverse is selected the OPS screen comes up first, you can select the reverse camera off this screen but it would nice if it came up as a first option, is there anyway to change this?

The reverse camera has no guidelines whatsoever, I can clearly see the image in colour behind me though. I don't necessarily need them, I've been driving since well before cars had 2 side mirrors, but since it's there it would be nice if it worked properly. (and it is nice to check for people/animals/objects behind you)

I notice in the boot there was another VW boot opener/camera hiding spot, so perhaps they have changed that and something happened to the guidelines?

There is also an electrical box thing which may or may not be related to the camera?

Next, the car has a DVD option, it looks aftermarket, so front seat head rests have DVD screens in them for the rear seat passengers. I did see somewhere in the settings (can't remember where now) the word DVD. I'm not quite sure how to operate them? They have a little remote control and head sets. I couldn't get the remote control to turn the screen on but I might need to change the battery in it. The little electrical box thing in the boot could be related to the DVD player?

There is a sticker on the dash that says TraxVisions, I'm thinking that's from the aftermarket DVD installation? Or could it be something to do with the camera as it has a little picture of a camera beside it?

Would you please tell me the best way to remove the knob (sorry I hate things being stuck to dashes) has attached to the dash? It's one of those magnetic mobile phone holder things but it interferes with the reception of the phone and the bluetooth connection to the car.

I forgot to take a picture of it but on top of the dash (above the analogue clock) it looks like someone has suction cupped a mobile phone holder to it and when removed it has made a small bubble under the lining of the dash. Is there a simple way to fix that?

There is also a cord plugged in to the AUX IN located in the centre consol, it comes out of the consol and goes down beside the drivers seat and in behind the plastic covers of the bottom of the consol. I don't want to pull on it because I don't know where it would be going? Is it something to do with the DVD Player?

And lastly, the side chrome strip on the passenger side has started to lift. It looks like someone has tried to glue it down already. What is the best thing to remove the glue with and what is the best glue to use to secure it again?

I know it's not the Taj Mahal at 11 years old but he is a tidy number with only a bit over 99000kms on the clock and he is mine now so I want to look after him.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thank you!
