2011 Passat Fold on Lock mirrors stopped working.

    Hey all,, Passt C3, Highline 2011, 3.6.
Bought the Passat 2 weeks ago and the power mirrors folded on locking everytime without fail and unfolded on unlock.
I adjusted some lighting settings etc in VCDS & it stopped, Ive tried every thread i can find and every VCDS sequence listed and cannot for the life of me get the "Fold on Lock"mirrors to start working again.

I somehow managed to overwrite my first VCDS log and as such can work out what i changed in the meantime,

    Would love some assistance...

    Check the vcds debug log.
Find what you did and reverse it.
Will be adaptation rather than coding I would suspect.

Have you checked the driver's door controller adaptation that would have been needed to enable fold initially?

Yeah i reset all the adaption back to original also...
    Still no luck,,
also tried the security adaption change from 90 to 95/99 but it comes up with a hexidecimal error thing,, i couldnt work out how to enter it in the required format.

You can determine the version by checking the label file name for module 42 in the Autoscan:
MAX3 - will require EEPROM change
    GEN4 - possible through adaption

For GEN4 it goes like this:
    ECU 42 > Login: 04354 > Adaption > Channel "(9)-System_Parameter_0-System Parameter Byte8" > set value to "95" or "99"

    90 = default value
95 = mirror folding via keyfob and automatic opening on ignition on
99 = mirror folding via keyfob and automatic opening on driver door open

    Ok,
Sorted,,,, i found the tail end of a thread refering to a differnet adaptation method,, it still gave the hexidecimal note so i tried entering a few via an online converter , the conversion factor from hexidecimal to "base 24" converted the E9 required to 9H so in entered it and viola! it works ,, I will do a new scan and up load the full thing for anyone whose interested.

Short version of the fix is as follows..
Goto module 42, unlock by going to security tab (Security Code: 04354).

    Goto adaptation

    find

    (2)-System_Parameter_14-System Parameter Byte1, change E0 to E5 - open with ignition

    or

(2)-System_Parameter_14-System Parameter Byte1,change E0 to E9 (Try entering 9H if it asks for the hexidecimal input) open with door

    Save

Make sure convenience is set in the MFD.(as applicable, mine doesn't specifically list the mirror fold)
