If you really like the wheels then id go for them before the power upgrade. Those rims in a VAG spec dont come up for sale everyday.
Yes, one is missing (in the pics), and awaiting better pics to see what the gutter rash is like, and also one looks like it has a buckle, but hard to tell.
    Too many decisions.

Will all depend on how I go with the existing faults from the brake upgrade

Yes make sure you give them a good visual inspection, as my only concern is that they do seem on the cheap side for a desirable good quality Japanese wheel. Also make sure they are genuine with all the correct markings and the million silver stickers on the inside of the wheel barrells that the Japs love.

Got some more pics of the wheels from the seller. The gutter rash was a little worse than expected, but could easily be sorted.

The main issue was that the mags were all different years 1 x 2019, 1 x 2016 and one was undeterminable as it was partially scraped off and also has some dodgy grind marks, so giving it the wide berth.

And based on what I've found out recently re the latest VAG protocols and protections, will take a break from any other mods !

Sounds a bit dodgy - probably a good idea to avoid them. If and when the time comes, there are some very nice wheels available brand new for about the $2k mark (rims only). Mode Auto Concepts has a really nice range to choose from MODE Auto Concepts and in particular I really like the Koya rims (had a set of Koya SF11 rims on my Mk7 Golf GTI in Gloss GTR Grey colour and they were very nice rims).

Thought this might be of interest once you get the brake issue sorted.

I'm not a fan of Ecotune. Have it on the GTI, and the power delivery is like an off/on switch. Not very smooth and not very useable for a daily.

Both Racingline (on the T-Roc R) and IE (on the Golf R) make "better" tunes in my view. No less top end power (IE probably more tbh) but they make much better daily drivers.
