    1995 2.0l Transporter Head "ache"

    Hi All,

I'm looking to repair/replace the head on my old Transporter. I snapped the timing belt when reversing into the drive, and after having a new belt put in discovered that valve no.2 was bent. Any recommendations for the best way forward would be much appreciated.

We had a 1996 Vento with about 250,000k's on it when it broke the belt. It bent No.2 exhaust valve as I recall. I took the head off complete with inlet and exhaust manifolds. My mate replaced the bent valve and I put it back together with new head gasket. It was still going strong at 400,000 odd thousand k's when my son wrote it off..
