Bit of advice please.
I have a 02R gearbox out of a polo n9 Gti, car wasn't running when I got it.
I'm concerned about the gearbox as its hard to turn the flangs by hand!
The gearbox is still attached to the engine so I may be concerned about nothing.
If attached to the engine, in neutral how hard should it be to turn? One side or both at the same time?
If you had a driveshaft and wheel connected it should be very easy to turn but turning the flanges by hand will be hard to do. If you can get a pipe wrench or multigrips it will be much easier. Spin both flanges a couple of rotations, you need to make sure they both turn and nothing binds.
Cheers
Paul
