    Will Golf wheels fit Tiguan?

Hi, Does anyone know if standard 16' alloy rims from a Golf will fit a Tiguan? I've had a look and the only difference seems to be the offset which is listed in a US site (couldn't find anything in Aus) as Golf ET45 and Tiguan ET33.

I don't know anything about the offset measurement ie if this is a huge difference or only a little bit, could this be fixed with spacers, or is it the other way, if spacers would fix it are spacers even legal?
    Many thanks in advance

The answer is yes and no.

Physically they will bolt up OK, however as you have found out the offset is different. If you do bolt up Golf wheels onto a Tiguan they will sit around 10-15mm more inboard which will appear to be swallowed up by the wheel well.

You can also have clearance issues on the inside due to the inside of the wheel being closer to the car, however if you're putting stock Golf wheels on this shouldn't be an issue as they're not that wide.

Tyres are different though as the Golf run a lower profile tyre size on the same rim. You may also find that the load rating of the wheels differ as the Tiguan is a heavier car than the Golf.

It has been done before though - previous Tiguan owner put GTI wheels on their car:Tiguan Picture Thread
