Since my warranty ran out 2 month ago they said they will contact VW and get back to me. Does this sound like a load if sh#t!
sorry, I must be drunk. did you say VW asked $500 to do this:

when I changed oil in my Tiguan, I did have to buy a T45 torx bit to remove the under body tray protector. this is extra compared to my mk6 gti. removing the tray also gives access to the turbo parts.

Not kidding! I was told because it was a 4 motion they would have to remove the drivetrain. I also removed the undertray and couldn't find the actuator. Video above is not for a 4 motion tsi engine.

Sounds like a porky pie to me.
Longest part of the job is waiting for the engine to cool.
I watched them replace mine. Took less than an hr.
Once the under body tray protector was removed it was easily accessed.

    Finally Wastegate Rattle fixed!!!

I finally got VW Essendon to fix the wastegate rattle out of goodwill and alot of complaining to VW Australia!
It took them 4.5hrs to install the clip. Report states: Checked and confirmed customers complaint, exhaust gas pulsations cause the vibration, requires to fit clip.

Instructions: Remove right hand drive shaft, removed propeller shaft to get access to the back of the turbo, fitted supplied
    clip to the vehicle.

It did cost me actually $63 for the clip which i purchased weeks in advance thinking this was the problem to begin with.

    Now i'm a happy chappy!

Will never go to VW Essendon again, they are rude and don't know what there talking about.

    Avoid Essendon Volkswagen!!!!!

Couldn't agree more about Essendon VW suffolk. I wanted to try 'roc there and instead I got some girl refusing to let us test drive but rather wanted to go through their stock list first. I hadnt tested the car before and told her that. I asked what is the point of looking through a list for a car I might hate. She said management. I said forget it. I loved the car and purchased the next day from Camberwell.
