Just wondering if anyone else has gone down the path of getting their 125TSI reflashed with either the 147 or 155 genuine VW tune.
A couple of advantages I see strasight off is that it "should" still maintain warranty on engine/drivetrain if it's a genuine VW tune.
The downside is that I don't think VW service would be too keen as every 125 driver would come through for a reflash and there would clearly be less incentive to buy the 147/155.
If you extract the tune off a 155 can this just be downloaded into a 125 or is this just too simplistic.

Not a silly question but from what I have seen at VW, when hooked to VW servers, it's not possible to flash the wrong code into an ECU.
It's based on ECU part number and software coding. Unless there's a newer version of the software coding for an ECU then it won't do it.
Although the ECU could be exactly the same inside and out, once it has software in it, it becomes unique. The part number, soft coding and VIN become embedded.
