so I couldnt cover that top part up....

just my two cents thats all.

Hi Tigger are you planning on splitting your headlamps to fit DRL's in the top of the headlamp? I'm guessing you have the Halogens as the design on top is quite nice.

By the way guys I have also ordered these recently for delivery here in the UK. I bought them from here after seeing them installed on a white pimped out Tig.

Yep, I'm always happy to take a drive to get out of the workplace. I'm thinking that as they come unpainted, an you and I have the same colour cars I might get them done. A chap at colourtech quoted $100 - otherwise I am thinking of getting a spray can at Capital Auto Paints for $40...

Let me know what you think.

    Hi Tigger,
have been trying to track down an after-market DRL set for my MY11 Tiguan and spotted this thread. Would you have any more info on how you put the DRL's in the top of the original Halogen lamps, and where you get them from?
    Much appreciated,

I highly doubt this mod has got anywhere yet but I'd be happily put straight if that wasn't the case. For starters the headlamps would need to be split open which is a task in itself on the latest type of lamps because the adhesive used is heat resistant. You would then to (in my understanding) to cut open the top section housing where that little design is. I noticed 4 distinct compartments as part of the headlamp design each of which could house a single high power LED and the chrome internal surround would act as a reflector. Being only 4 LED's though it wouldn't be very wide so not look as good as other manufacturers. If someone pulls its off though I've be really interested in seeing how the finished article looks!

    Hi Lads

I ended up ordering four sets - it all came to $280, including freight. Haywire, I will PM you when they arrive and sort out address details. I can drop yours around or something if you like Pullstarter?

Sorry it took so long to order - I had a massive fight with Paypal.

Thanks Captain Bungers for organizing the GB! Years let me know when it arrives and I will give u my details.

Hmmmm thinking if I Shd settle w the cheaper option of spraying it white. U reckon the surface will be smooth? What does a primer do? Does it primer before spraying, u reckon? Don't know much abt painting.

The primer helps get a better finish to the paint and helps it stick better I believe. Having a look around at paints you can get a can of primer for around $12 to $15 however I think you will be painting white on white so you can probably get away with not using primer.

Aaah... If the part comes in white, that would make things easier! U're right... Prbly wldnt need primer then unless it has problems sticking!
