    WTF? This makes no sense:

Due to the extraordinary global demand of the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) a Tiguan Special Model (Tiguan 132TSI Pacific, automatic and manual) will be introduced and substitutes the Tiguan 132TSI DSG and Tiguan 132TSI 6 speed manual. This special model will be orderable from November 2011, (calendar week 45/2011). As a consequence the Tiguan 132TSI DSG and manual variant will not be orderable for production until mid-2012.
Why do they need to bring out a Tiguan 132TSI Pacific manual to fill in a Tiguan 132TSI manual, due to a shortage of DSG?

I'm also struggling to see what would be the difference or downside with this second rate Pacific model!

    Please explain?

Something just dawned on me in the wee hours of the day (apart from the sun). Will the 132TSI be a 2.0T FWD? If so, what's the likelihood of it being CVT?

The reason I'm asking is because the A4 loan car we have ATM is a 2.0T with 132kw and 320Nm torque and it's coupled to an 8 speed hairdryer.

    Ermm, I mean CVT.

Not much of an update in my opinion! Different front and rear, but we cant choose any of the new options! Little things like the colour menu screen on main dash between the gauges, do we get? Volkswagen Aus are arrogant and suck... Pretty ****ty update hey?

Territory ghia AWD, was looking to update to something european, liking the Volkswagens and the technology VW offer, can afford the extra for a q3, but was happy with what i thought Tiguan was going to have with the update. Looks like it will be missing the options i want. will have to wait for more info and decide what to do!

Some A4's are definitely available with a CVT I'm just not sure what engines... Would suck if the Tig had a CVT I've only heard bad things about them... At least from a performance point of view

Thanks Maverick. I guess the front end without fog lights will be as it is was before (blanks) ?

And no sign of the colour MFD shown in some images (somewhere...)

Not sure but I assume so.

My guess is that we won't see the colour MFD until the Golf Mk VII is released and even then it may be only standard on GTI and R models. It may not even be released then, given VW has been reducing the number of options on the cars it's very unlikely it would be offered as an stand alone option like they do in Europe.
