Vibrations at 1200-1500 RPM 132TSI Pacific

    Hi,

As the title states, I am experiencing a slight vibration (probably around 8-12hz) in the car (and can be felt at the steer wheel) when revving past 1200-1500 RPM, and disappears after that. This happens from a standing start or while moving, and usually more noticeable from standing or on slightly inclined roads.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Just a note, I've only clocked 400km from new.

Sounds unusual to me. Is the car going up an incline at the time, when first starting or after a while.

I haven't noticed it in my 2011 Tig.

It happens in the 1,2,3,4 gears, and doesn't matter if the engine is warm or cold.

This seems to be a constant theme amongst TSI / Automatic versions. Don't really know why WV released the 6 speed with the Pacific edition, in a competitive market & with major supply issues, the damage to their brand for going cheap and nasty is not worth it.

I did some more testing while on the way home yesterday.

It seem to happen if you put your foot down slowly to accelerate. The rev meter will go up to about 1400, then drop to 1200 and that's when the vibration happens, and then if you depress the throttle a little bit more then it will rev past 1200 and the vibration stops around 1500... It seems to be related to the auto transmission, or because of the turbo kicking in?

We have MY11 TDI, no vibrations, smooth as...
I would put a few more kms on and see the dealer.

There's nothing cheap and nasty about the 6 speed auto, it's still one of the best non-DSG autos out there. I very much doubt that the vibration is coming from the gearbox but I do suspect the turbo needs "the clip" as discussed elsewhere.

Doesn't sound like a can of bearings just yet But I'll keep an ear out for it!

HAve you read the threads about the clip on the rod by the turbo (sorry, can't remember what it's called, I'm a diesel Tig man) that fixes an imbalance that sounds just like your problem ?

    Cheers

I had the wastewater clip done, but it was an audible thing, not something that you could 'feel'.
