Is the tune for Tiguan or GolfR?

sigh..they only have golf tunes so far. they packaged the tune with the DSG tune as well. the whole package costs $899 USD over there.

I'm interested to see how people find the APR stage 1 tune on the Tiguan. My wife wants one but I feel like it would be a little underpowered in standard form.

for the 125/132 it is a world of difference from stock, basically a whole new car.

for the 147/155 it doesn't feel as big a change but still well worth the $$.

Tigaun is not underpowered in the standard form, stock 132TSI does 0-100 in 7.9s, 155TSI is quicker at 7.4s, while Japanese NA compact SUVs hover around high 9s or more, I think Tigaun is plenty fast in comparison.

Take a look at Rav4 V6 and Forester XT (with tune) if you want something quicker, IMO they are more purposeful in terms of space and practicality, plus they come with full sized spare wheel, lower running cost and depreciation, but shame about the interior ambience and quality though.

Re APR stage 1, best value for $ in my opinion, effortless overtaking and shaves at least 1 second off 0-100 sprint for a bargain price.

So, I take it as you're after the tune for Tiguan.

Yes but problem is that you need the car physically in the same location to get the tune done (especially if it is a bench tune). So even though the tune may be $899 in the US it's going to cost a whole lot more to get your car there and back

There are a few tuning options for the Tiguan. I believe the only one that does DSG tuning right now on Tigs is APR, however there are a couple of others that are close if not already there (Viezu & Custom Code that I know of).

Generally you'll get a discount on DSG tune if you have the ECU tune with the same company. List price on APR tune + Harding Performance DSG Software is ~$2700 but at the moment they have Christmas specials so you'll probably get it for $2,300-$2,400. Still quite a way from your $899 though...
