Hey guys,
My dad has the 2010 Tiguan 103TDI with the 18" New York Alloys.
The tyres they need are: 235/40/18
He does ALOT of country driving with dirt roads being a common occurrence on weekends, and during the week it is on normal suburban roads/freeways.
I was trying to stick to tyres from:
Continental
Michelin
Good Year
Pirelli
What do people recommend here?

Hey team_v, with all this track work you've been doing lately, how are the Kumho's holding up? Yeah, i know it has probably only amounted to a few hundred km's, but are they wearing ok & would you get them again?

Yay!!! Tyres are in!!!! Got the Continental ExtremeContact DW in 255/40ZR19, 100Y from TireRack!!! Arrived yesterday and the new wheels are on!! Feels pretty good so far but had not done any highway driving yet.
I was asked by the Bob Jane guy if I had checked whether the tyres are made to 'Australia Standard'. I asked him what he meant. He said some customers ordered thru TireRack as well and some experienced shaking during higher speeds and he said some ppl do, some ppl don't. N he said "you'll see!" and smiled. Don't really liked the sound of it tho.
But here's some photos!!! We all like photos!
It could be that some people get older tyres (on sale, super cheap) but i doubt they make them to different standards for different markets.
Tyres look fat, tread pattern isn't too agressive which i find a little odd but the offset needs another 5mm outwards
What's the DOT on your tyres and are they all the same?
Definitely got good treadwear though. So unfortunately will be stuck with them for a while, if they don't live up to the part. :p
MY11 Tiguan 147TSI (SOLD)
Yea wanted a little fat looking tires, hence that 255 choice. Yea the tread pattern is not as aggressive as I thot. But ok anyways. Tread wear's 340... Yea. Not sure how they'll be like being pushed but we will see. ) I wanted something a little long lasting anyway.
What's DOT?
