I have had around 30000km from my Ecopia's and regularly have a balance and rotate. I reckon on another 20000 or so before they will need replacement. They do not have the same grip as the previous Bridgestone Dueller's at the limit of adhesion, but not much in it really. They are more comfortable and quieter so I would definitely recommend them....Cheers

My first tyre change and I've stuck with the Hankook dynapros. I've only changed the front as the rears have at least another 6 months or 10k on them. Thats pretty good going at 49k! They've been a great tyre for me. I could have put the change off another few months but I'm going up to the snowy mountains next week and playing it safe.

How long your tyres will last depend greatly from the road surface and where you drive as well as how you drive your car.

In area where I live, the road surface is very bad with lots of road works going on for a good couple of years now, that in combination

with quite a few roundabouts is shortening the life of the tyres. I have noticed that on all our family cars, incl. my T5. The wife's Tiguan has

the same Hankook tyres as yours and at 30,000km they have no more than 5,000km to 0 tread remaining (probably 1mm above the (TWI).

I am about to replace the original set of tyres on my Tiguan, can anyone recommend me a good quality low noise tyre?

    Assuming 235/55r17:
    Michelin Primacy3
    Goodyear EfficientGrip
    Pirelli Cinturato P1

    Sorry

    215/65 R16 98 H

Thanks for the tips, I will check the Pirelli, But the GoodYear also looks good. I only use the Tig on road and my preference is noise and ride.

In that size I'm having difficulty making a recomendation - they all look like off-road / delivery van tyres. Pirelli Cinturato P1 looks the best but I'm not a fan of Pirelli usually.

    Pete.
A few months back we put on a set of Bridgestone Ecopia EP850 in that size when Bridgestone ran a 3 for 4 offer (got 4 tyres for 3x$179). They are dead quiet and ride nice. Worth considering.
    Cheers

I went with Cooper tires. The original Hancooks were good only for 34,000km, rotated every 5,000km.
Done 2,000km on them now and am very happy with the ride quality and handling.

Thanks Phil, I almost got these tyres, but at the end I chose the Good Year Optilife set, which is exclusive to K-Mart and was cheaper too.
So far so good, ride is nice and quiet. It also has 50k tredlife guarantee.
