Thanks Prod. Awesome news for you too mate - only a week to go!!

Hopefully you get it by Friday though. Having to wait a few extra days over the weekend would be painful.

Thankfully our dealer came through with the goods and if all goes to plan we should be collecting it at 4pm this arvo!

Will try getting some pics loaded over the weekend

I like the scuff plates - Any idea how much the dealer price was for these? I imagine $99USD would be about 1/4 of the price??
Dealer quoted... wait for it... $375...

Probably wouldn't even have blinked prior to finding the exact same ones online. Plus the mod bug has bitten me now so its much more fun doing this myself

    Cheers, Matt
Hahaha, thanks Matt. Funny enough I was up till 3am! Though this was work related, which was actually a good distraction as I'm sure I would have just tossed and turned in bed anyway lol

Good excuse to call in sick...
I bet it will get a good detail on the weekend with all the new products he has bought!
    Enjoy the Tig Vince!
Thanks Tigsti, as pickup is 4pm taking a sicky would just have made the wait fill even longer. At least at work I can be a bit distracted (and waste some time on here )

Tilly will def be getting a "treatment" this weekend

Gotta say though, I am getting a little excited

Thumbs up Finally, Tilly has been collected!

    And we couldn't be happier!

Our VW rep has been great to deal with and went over the car with us in detail. Everything from the bonnet release on the passenger side, boot cover latch rest when accessing the spare, to "this is wear it shows you how little petrol you have... don't let it get to here"... lol - really!? Love your work Nick!!

We even scored a free First Aid Kit and he went over the fact that initially as the engine runs in the Tig will use up more of the oil than normal and due to this, he included a free bottle a VW 'special' oil for when t needs to be topped up. Advised to come back for the free 1,000Km service (will do!!) and ongoing 15's (hmm, not sure about that one)

Car looks immaculate (at least before the rain), only had 17kms on it (happy with that) and drives better then I remembered

Despite the rains effort to ruin the pickup, it held off just enough for me to get home and test out the Launch Control

    Love it!!

Then our 1 year old daughter gave it a half hour kid test - crawled over everything, played with every detail. Faaark she even managed to get the radio on within 10 seconds of getting in the Tig and cranks up the tunes so she can dance... god help me! My 8 year old son was another story... "Oh man, that is sooooooooooo cool!!"

Was hoping to get some pics up but the weather had other ideas so I'll see what happens over the weekend

Will leave you with this little teaser that I LOL'd at when I noticed :

Hahahah VW symbol IN the headlight! Classic! (Actually I think I remember reading this somewhere)

They make a tidy package ole VW:

(Sorry for the povo iPhone snaps, but i had to beat the rain)

Tomorrow will hopefully be filled with better weather, Tig detailing and "cosmetic customisations"

I know it's still less than 6 hours since pickup, but we're very happy with our selection.

Oh, we still need to go back on Wednesday to get the reverse sensors fitted, but can you tell how much I care?

Now, time to read the manual

Congratulations mate, glad you are already impressed with it, and that it has passed the all important kids test.

LOL.. i haven't even tried out launch control in my Golf R yet and you've had the Tig less than 6 hours and used it..

Lol, gotta love the kids (some one has to ) - no spew thankfully... well, not yet anyway

No family drive today - it's still pissing down. So no detailing or fiddling either

What!? You gotta get out there now and suss it out!

First time is the funniest - you sit there not knowing what to expect, wondering "Am I doing it right" and then once you release the brake and it kicks off, the smile just keeps growing

VW basically designed a system that allows us all to let out the hoon without worrying to much about the drivers knowledge to do it right - you can't really stuff it up or ride the clutch or mistime gear changes like a manual

Much better for the car as the launch balances everything out and you can't cause excessive stress on the components.

    Very cool

Thanks to mother nature dearest, this weekend invloved no detailing, no add ons, no glamour shots...

Ah well. It did clear up for about 20 minutes or so and I managed to get this shot:

Will post something decent in the picture thread when I get the chance
