Hmm, and then the potential hassle with that insurance co. !?

Maybe later, when the Tig is older (the angle grinder and the fiberglass).
By the way, my lift kit (suspension spacers) is coming from jcubed, I should see it within the week.

If you get together a list of parts needed, someone can have a look at alternative sources for the parts. Could be as little as $3K fitted if not using VWA supply channels. Certainly do-able and if you keep the original parts after an accident will be cheap to repair ....

Also, does your erWin show VW China models? I'm interested in the parts of the facelifted Chinese Tigs?

All the pictures I've studied looks like the headlights are the same and only the front bumper and grille is different.

Thanks for the clear description of track and field. I actually like the look of the track and field front and its a shame it wasn't an option for us when we bought. BTW I have the off road tech and my Tig is diesel and the same colour. It would have been good for where I live on the Sunny Coast but I still wouldn't use the Tig on sand, have a 4wd for that.

That's cool. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to use the Tig on sand, have seen several shots of them being far more effective in that environment than heavy 4WDs BUT the tyres need to have the pressure lowered and if it was me I'd be keeping well away form any salt water. Glad you're enjoying your Tig, I'm a fan of the track and field look too (surprise surprise !!) and I particularly like the track and field version of the new facelift model !!

    Cheers

I remember seeing an orange one from the EU but it wasn't the Delta one.

    Hi there,

I have taken my Tig for 6 blasts on the dirt in 12 months and been sideways and across some pot holes at speed. The car is so much fun on the dirt and no rattles at all.

    For a second only.

I thing the tig should be ok, that dashboard material is the best I saw in all small SUV's I looked. I also drive my T5 quite often on some very rough unsealed roads and after 5 years no rattles in it.
    Hi mate,
agree about dash material and general quality - had four Foresters prior to Tig and biggest reason I changed was quality (or lack thereof) in new ones. I have one annoying rattle in the Tig which I only noticed when I went on dirt road recently which appears to be coming from inside drivers door. Anyone had this or have any ideas? I notice that the mirror adjustment knob seems rather loose and wondering whether there might be a backing nut that might have come undone (or wasn't tightened properly at the factory)?! Short of starting to pull the door apart (which I definitley don't want to do) or taking it back to dealer (which is 1000km away and would probably say there is nothing wrong if I can't replicate it or make it worse like they did on rear seat side cover when they fitted towbar wiring - rant over) am at a bit of a loss
On another (sort of related) topic Transporter, I remember reading somewhere that you have fitted aftermarket TPMS to your vehicles and wondering if you could refresh my memory on what breed and where you got them. Maybe you could even put a heading with link on the "Shortcuts" page (looked and searched but couldn't find it otherwise) Have the indirect monitoring system, but am considering changing wheels/tyres and would like to install direct TPMS then (so I can know "on the roll" what pressures are - pain trying to measure accurately with handheld - specially when reading seems different every time. Yes I know - I do measure them cold and would probably help if I got an expensive guage/inflator, but rather put that money to TPMS)
    Cheers

Hi Tiggy1, sounds just like what i had, i tried products on all the rubbers which did nothing, but at my 30000k service they applied a lubricating paste (expensive!) to the door latch/catches which completely resolved the noise. It's kind of like a white-ish drier feeling grease that is still there & working 10000k's later.
