    Thanks Tig.
Came up better than I hoped.
Awesome light output from the SR2s with very defined beam patterns.
You only get flahsed the once!
    Happy Xmas.

these combo will give you much better brightness for country driving (provided no oncoming cars present). i had CATZ spot lights mounted on a nudge bar in the past with 110w H1 bulbs on my Rav4 and they just turned night into day (plus fog lights and high beam 90/110w H4 bulbs all turned on)
No Tiguan on that Power Bulbs link. Anyone know what they're the same as?

Tig (pre facelift) uses H7 for both low and high beam bulbs.

Facelifted Tig usss H7 for low beam and H15 for high beam / drl i believe.

Again, pardon my ignorance, but would these work?

Doesn't say how many lumens they are, would I expect brighter than 1500? Do they just plug in and mount that box to whatever with self tappers?

using HID bulbs and retrofitting them in headlights specifically designed for halogen bulbs are not only illegal but stupidly annoying and inconsiderate to other drivers (glare to oncoming drivers and glare on their rearview mirrors).

the beam is smeared everywhere and they don't have clear beam cut off like proper HID headlights.

I hate these type of drivers with passion. usually they are fitted to tradie 4x4, Camry, Jazz, etc. they just have no educated knowledge and consideration to other public road users. perhaps they are simply just ignorant. they should just get aftermarket headlights with proper beam cut off at minimum, that way their lights won't blind others.

Then go the LED light bar route and give up on the flawed notion of retro fitted xenons.
The end result is legal, provides superior output and is a darn sight cheaper.

Hi all. Digging up my thread for an update.

Went the light bar route, set it up so its removable when not in use. Very happy with the outcome.

On another note, I really like the led headlight assembly, and had the idea of buying one of the aftermarket headlight assemblies, and installing halogens in it instead of the xenons. Also may be possible with OEM housings.

What do you think? purely aesthetic but allows for an updated look without having to worry about legality, or blinding other drivers.

If you look around enough, you might find ones that have the LED DRLS but are also halogen from manufacture: no need to do any modification. However, again, there are ADRs that cover DRLs. They are only supposed to be on while the headlights are not. They can only stay on with headlights if they dim and perform the function of parkers. Also, make sure you get headlights correctly set up for right hand drive cars so they have the correct shielding in place.

The HID's aren't built into the aftermarket housings, they just usually come with a set of bulbs and ballasts and you install them yourself.
