wow, that's a big call from the BSH guys:

    "Dyno Gains:
Gains are made and felt throughout the entire rpm band. The full BSH intake makes a peak gain of 17whp and maintains 10-15 through the majority of the high end! View the graph in this products image gallery. "

I couldn't find the Products Image Gallery to check their dyno graphs.

    If you click on the "click for more images" under the pic it will give you a dyno graph John;

    http://www.bshspeedshop.com/store/pr...at=1103&page=1

That is intake and Stage 2 package though whatever that means, not much in the product description that differs from just the intake as far I can see.

Edit; Includes the intake pipe too I think.

Had a look at the dyno charts and TBH it does not make a big difference. Very slight difference from about 5000rmin onwards .....

Is it worth USD350 ? Not sure ......

Plus its not legal in Oz to have the filter open like that (only if you really care about that though )

I'm still debating if any of them are worth the $$$

Mine would be less than half that if I did it myself. Yes, not as pretty, but surely just as effective ......

EDIT ... a ModShack intake may be the way to go for far less $$$ as well.

How much are the modshack intakes Johan? I WAS looking at the Carbonio but I don't think I can justify the price tbh, don't get me wrong it's a sweet looking thing but just to expensive for my wallett

full exhaust would be first on my list, then intake. But intake on it's own?, probably not. Then again, I could be completely wrong with that approach - be happy to hear others opinions on this.

I'm not after big performance gains with the intake John, just extra noise

Intake on its own (on a stock car) will likely have very little benefit, except some extra noise .....

On a chipped car benefit likely to be a bit more, I expect about 4-5kw extra.

On a car with a chip & exhaust I expect the benefit to be around 10-11kw as it all needs to work in harmony to fully contribute.

    Which to do 1st? .... I don't think it really matters .....

ModShack details http://www.modshack.info/VTDA.htm in particular go through the images and find the Mk5 Golf TDI pics as it resembles what the Tig's intake would look like ....

I may be able to post pics of 1 on a Tig up soon ....

Pricing to be less than USD300 shipped. So about $350 AUD.....
