Tiguan Towbar Modification

Hi, Has anybody had the Tiguan Towbar Modified by an Engineer to increase the Towball weight limit ( 100kg ), I have read on the forum ( Towing With Multivan ) of a guy with a Multivan who has had his increased. My van weighs 1050kg empty with 140kg Towball weight.

The weight is set by the vehicle manufacturer, based on what they believe the chassis is capable of.

I would think that altering, or exceding it would have warranty implications.
