    Tiguan Suspension

Hi guys, i was wondering if anyone could recommend what type of suspension i should get?

I'm running 19 inch and it now looks a bit high.

What should i get, coil overs or just springs?
Any goods site i can get them cheap?

    Regards

Springs are cheap and will drop the height reasonably but also wear out the oem shocks.

you could get a spring/shock upgrade but then why not get coilovers (which are also more expensive and will usually incur import duty if you bring them in - if over the $1k threshold.)

H&R make a good set of coilovers which drop about twice the amount of just springs, so do KW.

I've found lowering springs tend to compromise the handling.

    Get a proper coilover set.

    I'm sticking with the ACC

If your Tig doesn't come with ACC can you get if fitted later?

    I doubt it.
It's one of those funny ones like off-road tech that doesn't seem to be fited post purchase.

By the way, ACC/DCC doesn't actually set the ride height differently, just the stiffness as far as I am aware.

I've been considering a 'mild' lowering on mine ala Eibach springs. Lowers the car around 30mm, compared to around 60mm with H&R. I wouldn't have thought this would compromise handling, but improve it! Ride comfort would be the compromise, i would have thought?

The problem is that the original damper settings are set for a certain spring rate.

Lowering the springs often changes the spring rate. I've found the cars tend to get very bouncy unless the damper settings can be changed.

I got the HR springs (second hand from Clip) and am really happy. There seems to be minimal compromise in comfort for improved handling.

    Haven't heard of that brand.
If you are going suspension i would only go with H&R or KW.
It is a prety integral part so you don't want to cheap out and get some ebay no name brand.
