Tiguan Sunroof

The shade filter on my 2009 Tiguan Sunroof is hanging slack on one side. Anybody any ideas on how to secure the fabric to the slider rail ? VW say the whole sunroof has to come off and a new slider frame which has the shade fabric attached has to be installed. Sounds a costly job. Anybody got an alternative method to secure the fabric ?

Pretty common problem on a complicated, yet poor design.

You will either need to carefully re-glue it, or have the blind replaced at great expense.

They're an absolute cow of a job to do, so don't expect it to be all that cheap either way you go.

Not wrong Umai. VW charge $700 for new shade & fittings + $600 labour. Doesn't sound like a DIY job either.

Check out fleabay for a digital copy of ElsaWin I got mine a couple of years ago and covers every VW and is very comprehensive and used by all VAG dealers

Not sure whether yours is a panoramic sunroof. Post up some pictures of the problem blind.

Ive done one....worse job ever...$600 labour they will loose out on that job...takes a lot longer
