I'm looking at the eurojet and maybe the apr (if the sale is ~15%?? *gulp*) to fit on my tiggy.

I had thought of the s3 (and found a good US site that'll ship it for under $600AUD incl intercooler (but hoses/pipes will be extra)), but it seems if i want to go k04, the s3 intercooler aint so good after 250kwish??

    Just can't find anyone who's placed a eurojet i/c into a tiguan (2010 2.0tsi 4motion tiptronic).

anyway, any pearls of wisdom would be oh so helpful and much appreciated .

    thanks!

S3 intercooler will be fine up to the max power of a K04. You’d be looking at +-240kw with a K04 and IMO its pretty pointless chasing more power on a Tiguan as there are a number of key components that won’t handle that type of power. Its 1 of the reasons I sold my Tiguan.
Eurojet IC I think will be better than the S3 and worth the little bit extra, whilst APR IC will be the best, but its lot of extra $$$$.

    Oh no!

Oh no sharkie! Reading your post and pullster ... U guys are the pioneers of tig mods her in Oz.

    Arg.

Thanks for all your posts that have been so useful to many of us!
    Big kudos.

Are you getting the cayman then?

I plan on upgrading intercooler and k04 only. Which parts aren't likely to hold up?
I don't have a manual so just a tiptronic so it's a fair bit slower but thought w the k04 be nice as my 0-100
    would be low6 high5s.

That pathway or an upgrade of other car to a dodge journey w new pentastar engine. (I've never ventured into americancars!... Gulp but the features are long and standard).

Man... Sad to see another tig go!

I'd be much more inclined to spend your dough on a down pipe rather than an FMIC if you're going KO4. The DP will make much more of a difference than the IC (and this comes from Mr APR himself) .

Also put some money aside for a new heavy duty clutch as it won't be long before you need one hehe.

Has anyone here had a custom tune done on their Tiguan? I am looking at getting Pulse Racing in Menai to tune my stock 132TSI DSG Tiguan once it has a few thousand klms on it

I am interested to know if a stock standard car stops making power at 190kw with just a tune and a slight boost increase

    Breathing Mod's?

Thought i would try one of these in my airbox:

Image shows a comparison between stock & the high-flow one from VWRacing.
Have just put it in, but yet to test... Will report back after a few drives over the weekend!
Anyone have any feedback on these?

It won't stop at 190kw but that is what most stage 1 tunes will go to, i believe GIAC goes higher.
Custom tunes are apprently more suited if you have a more detailed explanation of what you want or want smoother boost curves etc.

How much did that set you back?
I don't really know how much benefit it will give over stock since the airbox sucks hot air into it from underneath.
More than happy to hear otherwise

How abt the APR CAI intake kit? Is it true (according to a frd) that one should take it for tuning if u were installing a CAI?

Was $110 + a bit more for freight from Rennenhaus. Good to deal with & quick postage!

Not sure how the CAI affects a stage 1 tune, but is a requirement for stage 2 tune.

You ordered those wheels yet, Dan?

I have contacted APR about the CAI. According to them you do not need to tune the car if you were to install the CAI because it is in front of the Mass air flow sensor (MAF), which means that it will do minor calibrations to itself for the extra flow. BUT they do recommend to tune it because you would gain much more power.
