Thread: Tiguan Performance Tuning

  1. #111

They will be capable of all the types of tuning, including bench tuning too - will co-ordinate with you when we get closer - oh, they have a dyno as well. Will be up soon enough for training, so you might be able to catch up with our tech when he's in town.

We have been doing cars in NQ for years, normally we have flown up, and mostly done groups for the dealers. James was in Cairns a few months ago doing some Porsche turbo's, mercs & golfs.

oh, yes, of course, the full EMCS switchability comes with the bench flash for the Tiguan.

    Always up for that!

See if you can find out the technicalities about the "light DSG flash" please, the DSG computer is totally separate to the engine computer, and a totally different programming method!

Fully aware of that Guy I guess at the end of the day you would have to decide if you want your DSG to be modified, when so many units fail and you might not get it repaired because of the DSG-flash?!

From the back of my head I believe Simon said they are doing it via the OBD-Port, but I would have to check that again....

Bring on the dyno day for sure ! Mad keen to sort one of those out...

And wow guys do I have to read the whole of this thread or can I just jump in here ?!

Sure our HQ is based just north of Cairns so we do a lot of motors up here. Yes we love do a lot of Porsches too as I'm personally a long term Porsche owner and fanatic and always have been and we have vast amounts of experience with them because of our Tech Director's past and general world firsts when it comes to them... and lots of other stuff for that matter. Although we're looking at getting a Golf 'R' to supplement the track sprint stuff given we are pulling 4.1s 0-100 just from a dump pipe, CAI and our custom mapping...So we can properly feel at home on here with a VGA group motor rather than all these Astons and Ferrari owners ! It's great fun at the Euro and Porsche clubs up here but NOT ONE dub turns up.... C'mon Cairns people - PM me and we can sort out a club meet.

And of course we have every piece of hardware you can shake a stick at. Having said that the latest firmware on the KessV2 and the K-Tag Alien Tech systems service our entire range now so little point in anything else to be honest so our dealers will have that lot.

We've now launch in Melbourne, about to launch Brisbane, in fact lots more in the pipeline I won't crash this thread with here - but yes we can offer services including bench tuning all over Australia - and yes - the new Tigs are (awesome by the way) are bench tune only. I did take an ID file on a chap's 200hp variant up here recently but OBD tuning isn't going to happen on them... delightful 1024 bit encryption strikes again.

But absolutely as with all our VAG stuff - you get a light DSG tune thrown in with which ever level of tune you decide upon. Whether it's our Chamber of Commerce Award winning Blue Optimize custom written coding for 50% reduced emissions and max eco, and super slick smooth gains, our performance level or motorsport levels it's all custom written, fully insured mapping... Free lifetime of ownership flash updates, upgrades, return to stock for service programs (small charges may apply for bench tune motors) for those that don't trust the undetectable-to-dealer-diagnostics-tuning we offer. Incidentally if a service centre flash an upgrade on the ecu we need a new read file, and will supply a free new custom written map again, for the lifetime of your ownership of the vehicle. And if you do any hardware mods they are written perfectly into the coding - so you can get the best out of them for one, but also no more 'hoping' the CEL doesn't come on.

The optional (but free) light-dsg-tune alters the LC if applicable and makes for faster pick-up, smoother shifting, quicker shifting and just generally sorts out the complaints about the DGS boxes in general. Feel free to ask any of the Golf R or GTi guys on here about it rather than me selling it you. And yes, again is covered by our insurance.

Anyway - that's probably enough so I'll duck out for now but always happy to answer any question anyone may have.

Have a look here if you need to know more on us for now too - our website is undergoing maintenance so will be out of action for a few days

Well, what a coincidence - was just about to put up a post saying I had decided to go with Simon & Viezu for my tune. The above pretty much explains the reasons why. With respect to the others (APR and Superchips' in particular), Viezu seems to offer the best combination of proven results with tune personalised to each particular vehicle and owners needs & wants and value for the service provided. And he is HERE, and able to do it NOW (can't wait!) Have actually met Simon personally and believe he can back up the talk with results - will certainly be giving my "before & after" comparison results
Check this out (hijacked it from Golf Forum) - it rocks

So Simon, can you clarify that you are remapping the DSG Mechantronics (The DSG ECU) - or are you only remapping the engine?

Guy I hear you're a fellow Porsche owner Are you going to put the turbo or charger kit on it ?

I'm not sure I can tell you trade secrets on how our light-dsg alterations are done but whilst our website is down for maintenance and expansion, HQ's own website link about DSG mapping might be useful to these chaps if they're interested

Come on Simon, he wasn't asking what you changed, so it wouldn't be a trade secret you are giving away. You flash the mechatronics through the OBD is the question he is asking. So basically there's 2 flashes being applied to the car.

    Cheers Simon,

As Gav said above, I simply asked if you are flashing the mechatronics unit (via OBD or other) - that's the DSG's ECU. If you can confirm or is it only the engine you are flashing with the

Thanks if you can confirm for the thread.

Cayman has been great, it has had a turbo on it for two years, but we have been making some major mods to the system for the past couple of months - I miss driving it, its an awesome bit of kit

    Sure chaps.

We offer full DSG ECU tuning through serial but the light-dsg-tune is coding through the main ECU. It's a free option for most DSG motors, just like speed limiter removal and that sort of thing.

The Golf 'R' owners which seem to be one of our biggest VAG tuning groups at the moment are loving them. Clients say the launch control is altered from 3200 to around 4200rpm and the lazy pick up is very much improved along with faster smoother shifting.

When our new website is re-launched I'll do a full piece on there about it. I'll also do a proper DSG tuning part in our sponsor section.

Sounds great on your Cayman - keep me posted on that I'm interested in the TPC Turbo Kit for my DE1... We'll do our own coding for it though of course (!)
