main differences between the tunes (95 & 98 ) is the timing, but there are many other linked tables. On an APR calibration trip, we have many drums full of BP 95 & 98 and we are experts at draining & refilling fuel tanks with an auxillary battery & pump.
No massive change below 2500rpm as the turbo doesn't start to spool until then.
Feedback from DSG owners with TSI motors is the response is better - more torque to work with, but obviously a turbo motor still has to spin the turbo to make the power, we can't fix that. VW fixed that with the twincharger - drive a twincharger & you can see why they put a supercharger on before the turbo
No easy way to get a trial on the encrypted ECU's - because of the labor involved, I would suggest doing it when you have the budget & use the 7 day money back guarantee on the product. And if we did the trial, we can unlock it without pulling it out again, but this is not normal practice. Some dealers charge the labor on a trial (2 hours) & refund it if you purchase the product.
Check with your insurance company, tens of thousands of people have modified cars insured. If your insurance company does not like "modifications" then ring another company. I have never heard of anyone who couldn't insure a "chipped" car in the 14 years we have been doing this!

The biggest problem is cloning the immobilizer on the ECU - which at this stage an ECU swap can only be performed by your VW dealer.
If it's any help, our new Cairns dealer will be up & running soon & will have all the new bench flashing equipment as well. Hopefully that will be a bit closer for you.
