I don't know about the in-line system, I can imagine that it might throw airfilter/flow error messages on the dash? I would just go with the Carbonio personally, the APR is so rad that it will blow you away anyway
Hi, thanks for that. The tune will be a given (can't wait) - just a matter of working out how/where
I think the Carbonio might go on the wishlist (with downpipe) for later. Will probably be quite happy with the Stage 1 Tune anyway from all reports! Thanks for the feedback about Electric Supercharger - you're probably right, might be risky in upsetting sensors, although as it would be upstream of the MAF sensor I thought not. As you say, best to stick with tried and true! Pity they don't do a twin-charge version of the 2Ltr (same as 1.4) - that would be grouse

Are there actually other companies then APR selling downpipes or is it basically just APR or a custom fabrication? I mean other companies do downpipes for the mk5/6, but I have no idea if these would fit the Tig.....

I was just going to say that, looks a bit odd and I've never really seen anything like that before

As far as I know the only other option is techtonics tuning with a 2.5 inch system.

The 4motion system is the reason why most peopl ehaven't designed a downpipe for the australian Tiguan.

The APR Australia Tiguan Downpipe is 100% Aussie designed & produced. It's unique to the Tiguan AWD & doesn't fit anything else.

Hi all. Have been having a sticky at the Superchips site and am thinking their Blue Fin device might be the go, as I would be able to download files and plug-in to do ECU Tune myself. Would get around the problem of being so remote from anywhere that can do it. Has anyone used one of these on their Tig? What is the consensus on the "quality of tune" compared to APR?
    Cheers

I have the superchips tune with an Automatic (sad....) From numbers and from what I've read of other people's experience.

From APR you get more low down torque from 1.7k RPM (you get a bucket load of it!) You do get more low down torque for superchips but just a bit better than stock just not as much as APR. Seems pretty week as it gets close to 3k and is about to change gears but it is still substantially better than my 125TSi....(automatic gearbox)

At the moment, my fuel consumption didn't get any better. With the woman of the house driving the car, I am getting 11.7L/100 over 2000km.
From 3.5k onwards ish imo pulls strongly but I'd assume APR pulls just a tiny bit more from stats. (never driven APR)
Overall I think Superchips is a bargain, but if your the type to thrash it around I think you'd enjoy the APR more. Sometimes I wish I got the APR but due to the missus, I'd rather have her not know I modded the family car....yes the change only slightly noticable during normal driving

I've heard happy reports from people with other cars (not VW) for the very reason you mention - can do it themself, can flash back for warranty jobs etsc. I seriously considered it myself.

Stop reading VWWatercooled whilst driving or you may give yourself a rash.

Hi. Yeah that seems to tie in with comparison of dyno graphs. APR seems to be more effective tune (and you pay for it) - I guess that is the benefit of more R & D for our conditions (bit of a plug for you Guy). Never-the-less I think I will probably go for the BlueFin from Superchips due to the convenience. Not after ball-tearing performance, just a bit more responsiveness and better overtaking pick-up (speed doesn't kill, lack of decent roads with overtaking lanes does!) Dad drives the car too, so don't want it too lairy (same reason as you for the missus). Although he never complained when I hotted up the old XT Foz

AFAIK and I've tried, the Bluefin may not be able to read original map due to the Bosch encryption.

FWIW, we have the same MY and my VAG definitely had this chastity belt on it.

But nevertheless worth a try ... provided you get assurance that you will get a full refund, if it doesn't work.[COLOR="Silver"]

I'd suggest as part of introducing yourself (before you can post a reply or new thread) that you first prove to the Moderator that you can string an English sentence together.

Or at least limit them to 140 characters or something, whilst they're on their 'L's.
