Have a Superchips tune on a 2009 125 TSI Tiguan (old style automatic)
Just wondering what the limit is for the powertrain?
Atm it's got about 185kw/395Nm (claimed at the crank) and I'm thinking of pushing more pass the 200kw without K04.
    Probably downpipe, exhaust and intake.
Any advice? Considering I have a superchips I should probably upgrade that to APR or VIEZU to accomodate for the extra hardware.
Can't advise on limits of auto drivetrain.

Though if you change your DP then you will need a new tune. Other bits can bolt on without a change to the tune file.

If you have a Superchips it means that you won't need a bench tune - flash over OBD port which makes things simpler (for the tuner).

Advantages/disadvantages with each tuner. Here's my thoughts:

APR is good but most expensive. The ECU is then "locked" to APR and will require VW to reflash it to return it to true VW "stock". Largest dealer network so you should be able to find a dealer not too far away. They often run sales so if you decide to go this way, keep an eye out for a 15% off and you can save yourself $250 on the tune.

Viezu is big worldwide but relatively new in Australia. They offer some great deals on hardware and software. Also they are only ones with DP for Tiguan. At the moment they only have their "Performance" level tune available for the Tig. Their "Motorsport" tune which is available for other VW models hasn't made it to the Tig yet. Flash upgrades are free so when it does come out you should get the new flash file for free.

There are a few other tuners out there but most only have a single location which is great if they are close by. From personal experience (and you would have thought I'd have learnt my lesson first time), go with someone local where you can get support.

    Thanks tigger,
Does anybody have any experience with Volkswagen Racing filters? Seems like a pretty solid upgrade however it is about 20 dollars more expensive than a K&N.
I don't have any aftermarket intake but this caught my eye. I've tried searched filters for Tiguan on this forum and there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on it. (a lot on intakes though)

Changing just the filter is going to make no difference so it isn't worth the cost of going for a "premium" one.

Interesting Sharkie, and good news 4 me. I'm looking at getting into another Tig. Borrowed bro's new Jeep for a long drive the other week and couldn't believe how much more comfortable I was. So have started looking at Tigs again - still best bang for buck. Only thing concerning me was gearbox after my last experience, and for all your reasons, but if dq500 can handle the torque then that's what I'll be going for. Don't actually mind the dsg now I'm used to it. Not sure if I'll go ko4, but who knows! Be talking to Guy again no doubt though. Anyone after a near new TDI Passat, I know someone that has one.

a bit of a longshot here but i've lost my manual for my APR Stage 1 ECU tune (done way back in 2012)... which listed the 4 different program modes for switching... would anyone have an idea of what they are? e.g. 1. Stock / 2. 95RON / 3. 98RON / 4. Valet

i've contacted the dealer who did the tune but they no longer support APR mods.

    They are indeed "1. Stock / 2. 95RON / 3. 98RON / 4. Valet"

Press and hold the Cruise control set button (with cruise turned on) on the left hand stalk. 1 blink per second = program #1, 2 blinks = 2 and so on.

I have to do this on a regular basis on the Amarok (when my son drives it)

It blinks about 5 times in a row for each program, I normally watch it blink for 2 sequences before changing just to make sure
