very good! 1/4 mile is being planned for the tablelands, don't know about the status of it, but last I checked they were still looking for founding members to match the first million they have been promised form a local sponsor. So maybe end of 2012? Who knows....

What is 'valet' mode and what purpose does it serve..?

From memory Valet Mode limits the car so that it can't rev over 4k RPM.
Useful for when you get it serviced or know a friend is driving it

I gave valet mode a go a couple of months back... Was able to accelerate from 0 - 60kph in about 12 seconds whilst going down a hill! It must do other de-tuning apart from just limiting the revs...

But while we are on the subject of performance tuning, what sort of gain could one expect from a CAI coupled with Stage 1 APR tune? 5 or more kW?

I think the quoted range was from 2-4kw.
The ecu then the downpipe are the restrictive points.

It's for when you're attending the Logies or the openning night of a new show, staying at the Sheriton or Wentworth etc, you pop it into valet mode and the valet can't thrash your car on the way to or back from the carpark.

APR don't do diesel tunes, however, most APR dealers also do Oettinger tunes and they do programs for TDIs. From memory you get about 125kw out of a 103 TDI.

Damn. Oettinger tune... I've heard of them. Not sure how they are compared to Viezu or any other tuners you might know who do diesels?
