    The Tiguan Owners Manual

Hi I could not see anything on the Tiguan forum on the Owners manual so thought I would ask other owners opinions of it.
I have a new Silver leaf DSG 103 and have done 1500 km in the last 11 days since I picked it up. I'm pretty impressed as I have come via Volvo to VW. I have in this short time been reading as much as I could on the car, didn't even know how to access S mode until I hit on it by accident I am not so impressed with the Owners manual which is reminiscent of my old FB Holden manual and rife with kindergarden Warning placements, that the lawyers must make them insert, but which destroys the readability of it. I guess you can look at it as a reference manual but even so it is not user friendly in my opinion or even clearly set out or well presented. I also wonder why VW does not make it available online for prospective buyers? Maybe they can see it is not up to the standard of the car. Any thoughts from new owners?

I don't have a problem with it, many things are self explaining, even the MFD, anyone who can program DVD recorder, PVR, can use the iPhone, should have no difficulties to go through the menus in the MFD. My wife who drives the car everyday to work and do shopping never look at the manual and she has no problems using the car. I suppose that some features are there that she won't get full use of them , but the owner's manual is there for reference.

IMO, there is no easy way to put together manual that would be easy to use for everybody and fit it in the glove box.
There are some threads in the stickies that can give you some informations maybe faster than looking for it in the owner's manual.

Has anyone found a good spot for the manual? It takes up a lot of room in my already-small glovebox. I can't fit my beers in there to keep them 'chilled!

I've just put it into a ziploc bag and store it together with the space saver spare.

Didn't think I need to keep it 'chilled' in the glove box.

Heh, didn't read it in the manual either. Was told that it will keep things cool by the sales rep when I picked the car up last week.

But like the idea of the pen holder in the glove box though.

Ok. Looks like everyone likes the manual. I too regard it as a reference work. I just thought it was not up to the standard of the car compared to others I have used. I will be keeping mine in the boot as well after I have finished dipping into it.

G'day all..I wrapped mine in a thick rag, then in a plastic bag. I found a good size cavity in the luggage area on the opposite side to the jack storage area; perfect fit too and readily accessible if the luggage compartment has heavy stuff on the floor!
