Hey Guys,
Anyone know if there would be any issues swapping out a cloth interior for a leather one? Are the seats the same and fit in the same way etc?
Cheers
Simon

Even in the 2009 models the leather drivers seat is electrically adjustable?

I haven't done it to my Tig but previous car I had (Honda Accord) I arranged for the dealer to fit leather to a demo with cloth interior. It came up really nicely and I think the leather was a better quality than the "standard" leather. Plus it worked out a lot cheaper to do it that way than to pay for the brand new optioned up vehicle and we got a demo with new seats. Check out a couple of decent motor trimmers and if you handle manually adjusting your seat you'll probably save a thousand or 2 from the price of the leather option.

Well a mate has sourced a wrecked 125tsi with the leather interior but he doesn't know if the drivers seat is electrically adjustable or not. Will have to wait til tomorrow and call the owner. If it is an electric seat I'm USC I guess .

It will be, but can't see why that will be a problme. There is a harness & plug sitting there waiting to plugged in (have look under your seat Simon). You may have to activate it? Should all be good! Although I wouldn't get leather myself. Having it in the Passat (no choice) it is very nice, but just not nearly as comfortable, and certainly not as practical as the cloth. I reckon the best seats are like what Renault do, have a cloth seat with leather sides, it looks good but has all the adavantages of cloth.
Thanks John, I'm a fan of the 50/50 myself

Any other goodies available in the wrecked tig? Stereo? Rear parking sensors? I need to replace the rear cup holders and the boot cover as well...

Is your rear cup holder stuffed too? Had my car about a month when the kids had the rear cup holder out and then deided to step on it getting out the car. It's now a busted cup holder. Went and spoke to my local VW dealer and the spare part is $200 or so. Expensive cup holder.
The sevice guy has got a Tig too and he's buster his cup holder as well. Step... crunch. No more cup holder.
Anyway fortunately I could kind of fit it back together and close mine so the kids will have to deal without a cupholder.
Any idea whether the 2012 model has the same rear cup holders? Might look into it and see if they've improved the design.
