    Cheers,
I'd say that it's slightly lower in quality. But never really had them on to analyse during daytime.

But from a quick comparison the chinese made ones looked slightly lighter in colour.

So you definitely need to replace all four doors to avoid mismatch!

Nevertheless, I think it would look weird with just the front ones on with the aluminium trimming.

People will think that's where my mod budget ended for this month!

Noed did you nd up getting fogs retrofitted? I am in the same boat. Would like to know my options if you found someone in VIC or you went dealer.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but what's the best way to gain access to the backside of the front bumper. I'm installing some aftermarket foglights on an MY12 tiguan and I'm not sure whether to remove the plastic skid plate or go in through the wheel arch.

edit: Never mind I've worked it out. The whole assembly pops out with the hook tool.

Ok so the aftermarket fog lights don't fit - not even close. They look right and the seller uses a picture of a 2012 tiguan. Not sure what vehicle they supposed to be for but it sure as hell isn't a tiguan.

Does anyone know where I could source some 2012 fog light clusters other than the main dealers (overseas)? Do you know what the option price of them was at purchase? I was kind of short tracked through the purchase process and actually didn't even speak to any salesman as I design their showrooms and only spoke to their head honcho's.

Foglamps were a $300 option when I bought my 2009 model.
To make them work you also have to replace the headlight switch - there is a pull-out position for rear foglamp (which you have as standard) and a second position for front fogs.
The problem with the foglamp operation is that you have to switch the headlamps from auto-on to fixed-on before you can turn them on. Which is a pain.

Spoke to a dealer today - $300 each side just for the lamp and plastic surround. I guess i'll wait until they become more readily available.
