    The Spare Wheel Revisited

Ive looked at all the spare wheel installations and decided to see if i could improve on whats been done previously,

first i bought a 17'' wheel off the buy swap and sell Gold Coast brand new with a 235/45/R17 tyre so i had to pick uo a 235/55/17 tyre

I decided to cut styrene around the floor after takingout the tool tray it had to be 85mil in height

Now i moved the rear seats forward so the tray could be sat on top of the styrene and the seat pushed back

i then dropped in the new Full Size spare as we all know we cant change the height ,

I tried using the original wheel cover but as we all know it sit far too high ,so i tried the spill tray upside down
i mighgt but some car carpet and lay over the top latter ,

I still have to cut a circle to lay over the spare wheel as the drip tray is not strong enough to support too much weight ,The Spare Wheel Revisited-img_0665-jpg

As you can see ive only lost 25mil leg room from the rear seat
if any one can see a better way let me know ,The Spare Wheel Revisited-img_0685-jpg

I finished off the cover with a piece of 6 mil ply and grey car carpet
its not the most professional job but it doesnt look too much out of place either.
