    Tiguan buying advice required

    Hi all,

I have just sold my pirelli as I need something a little more practical.

I like the idea of at tiggy that I perhaps tune for a little extra grunt. I would like some fruit like leather etc.

I understood that all the 2.0 turbo cars 125,132,147 and 155 are the same in differing states of tune and with a apr tune end up with the same end result. I have noticed though the cars have differing compression ratios.

    125 and 147 10.5:1
    132 and 155 9.6:1

Can anybody explain the differences when tuning.

Some cars I'm interested in looking at.

    2010 Volkswagen Tiguan 5N 147TSI MY11 Direct-Shift Gearbox 4-Motion
    2011 Volkswagen Tiguan 5N 155TSI MY12 Direct-Shift Gearbox 4-Motion

Any thoughts price wise etc etc. I'm not familiar with tiguan pricing etc

    Many thanks Aaron

Check redbook and put filters on carsales for similar low km cars to compare prices. Gut feel is these are a bit high but the do have fairly low km.

I hadn't picked up on the compression ratio before. I know some of the earlier gen 1 models have smaller/thinner intercoolers which does make a difference when tuned.

Aaron, prices seem too close to RRP of outgoing Tigs.... but low k's was a good thing.

I know this one's a little lower on the options, however is priced right: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d.../?Cr=2&sdmvc=1

The money you save you could put on a tune, wheels, upgrade the suspension and if you were keen retrim in leather plus still have change. If you're keen on leather then I would seriously consider buying a cloth trim car and retrimming as you'll end up with brand new seats

I spoke to APR today and they told me to go 132 or 155 as they have a cczb engine vs cawb of the 125/147. This engine runs lower compression and is much better tuning wise etc.

Going to need some upgrades after the apr pirelli as it will feel like a slug
