Tiguan buyer checking in after 15 months ownership

Back in April 2014 I relied on this Forum to help me with my purchase of a 2013 Tiguan 103TDI with DSG
In particular I would like to thank Tigger 73 who gave me great encouragement and calmed my nerves over DSG issues .
After receiving Tiger73's advice I bit the bullet and my wife and I flew from Adelaide to Penrith Subaru who had the model I wanted. The car was 11 months old and in perfect condition. We signed the papers , drove off after paying $31,000 and had a wonderful 3 days driving through NSW, Victoria and back to Adelaide, via Castlemaine. The car ran beautifully and the low down torque was amazing. 15 months on and with 70,000 klms on the clock we have not had one problem! Car is serviced at Castle motors in Magill and they have provided excellent service .So glad I listened to your advice tigger and thank you to those on this Forum who also encouraged me to stop worrying! and over thinking the whole business.

My diesel now has 120,000 km with original tyres and brakes. I'm impressed. with 70,000 on yours in 2 years, then you'll be able to check out the durability yourself soon enough. Happy travels.

The brakes usually last long time in Tiguans, but I'm impressed with the life of your tyres, we could get only 34,000km out of the factory fitted 16" Hankook tyres (rotated regularly). Now at close to 50,000km and 5 years later, I'm also happy to report that despite doing only short trips we have no issues with our 103TDI auto.

I got my Tiguan TDI in August 2011, ATM i'm @178,000kms with out ONE problem since picking up the car brand new with 34km's. I will drive this car until it dies i am that happy with it. I used to get 70-80,000km with the factory tires but have since changed to a softer compound and found the lower noise while driving on the hi-way to be a noticeable and pleasent change. most probably don't notice it until you change your tire compound. I STILL have the same break pads from factory and by the looks i will get 200,000kms+ out of them. i've lost count the amount of times i've got 1200km from 64L "Full Tank" i do drive my TIG more than most but i knew this before i purchased the car and brought diesel for this reason. Always got my TIG serviced at the dealership "yes this can be alot more expensive" but since working for nissian i've noticed when you work on the same model cars all the time you notice curtain things your multi skilled mechanic simply will not notice. I am one happy customer.
