Yeah i took one for a drive today, and my big concern is also boot space. My fullsize bag of clubs and buggy (folded down) will easily require seats to be folded, let alaon taking mine and a mates clubs and buggys. I guess I have to decide if I am ok with that, cos it is quite shoddy, spending $40k on a great built and performing SUV that can't carry much...
Boot size has been a real deal breaker for me. This is the car I have wanted and was going to get but it just wasn't compatible with my family and two dogs so had to get something bigger.
Ever since I was young I wanted a VW Golf, then I got married and had a kid and got two dogs so naturally I looked at the Tiguan. After convincing myself it was the car for me I needed to look at it more practically and it just didn't tick that final box. Other than that I love it.
Thats not a bag... this is a bag! And it doesn't even have the rain cover on it!
The other bag is an absolutely skinny basic bag (no offense to the owner of said bag), but for anyone with anything of usable size full of clubs (in terms or golf bags/cart bags), they wont fit in diagonally.
The Golf wagon has the space you're looking for - and they're about to release it here. The load space is significantly bigger than the Golf/Tiguan, and it drives just like a Golf. I hire one every time I go to Germany -will sit on 180km/h all day even filled with kids and luggage.
TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km
You're not wrong, my stand bag is bigger than that and I think I'd have to take the rear seats out to fit my staff bag and buggy in there
I should have checked, might have been better to get the RAV with the V6, who am I kidding, I love my Tig, apart from the glove box sized boot
I'll take a pic and post for all you golfers out there.

This is true for me also. I loved the GTI and was thinking about getting one, but we then got a new addition to the family. and suddenly the GTI doesn't seem like a good idea. Then the Tiguan got launched. Had a look and realised that the boot space would be too small to put in the stroller, and the shopping, and would be an even tighter squeeze when we go on hols. I loved that the Tig was compact, just a little too compact for us. Would be great in a few years time when we no longer need to ferry the stroller around.
Exactly what I have been thinking too (more here for those interested). In NZ the Golf wagon is only available in either the 90TSI or 77TDI versions. Hopefully we will at least get the 118TSI, but at the moment I'm leaning towards the Skoda Octavia RS. Mind you, I've not completely given up on the GTI or Tiguan yet. The heart is still trying to convince the head that it's do-able .Originally Posted by Sanman
The boot size was the reason why I originally crossed the Tiguan off my shopping list. I carry a lot of work gear around and also play in a band every other weekend so space was a big consideration.
In the end, it was the drive that won me over. No other cars in that price range felt as good and solid and sure-footed as the Tiguan.
I've been driving with one of the rear seats permanently down most of the time, and enjoying every minute of it.
But it's a personal choice, if the boost space is a deal-breaker then you might have to look elsewhere, go Skoda Scout or step up to the Toureg?
Finally got around to taking a pic of my small bag in Tig glovebox, sorry...boot
