Thread: Tiguan boot space

    Tiguan boot space

I still have about 2 months till my Tig arrives and it has been 4 months since i saw the car so can't really remember how big the boot is. From everything i had read its always listed as 1 of the Tig's downfalls.

Is there enough room for a set of golf clubs and a buggy(folded)? or a rifle case? i mean without having to drop the back seats.

The boot has a capacity of 395 litres, you would think a set of golf clubs would fit quite easily?

    This review ( http://www.caradvice.com.au/13090/20...n-first-steer/ ) says -

"The rear load space looks a little meagre but we were actually able to fill it with a substantial amount of luggage, although its shape des mean that you families with prams might find it challenging. However the rear seats do hold with a 60-40 split leaving a flat load space and also are able to be moved forward, like the front seats to increase the rear space."

Then looking at the comments below some guy has wrote

    "peterpan says:

Try placing a golf club in the boot space? Not only does a single club not fit but completely forget about a golf bag or the kids school bags"

Sawn off shotgun case should fit no problems, as will golf clubs for midgets.

Still time to change the order for a Touareg V6 TDI. Your stuff will fit in there OK.

Tested this afternoon to see ....

Golf bag will fit without any problems .... (std bag full of clubs etc) that peterpan above must be a fairy.... did he even test before speaking rubbish .....

And here is a Big Momma Driver as well on its own (was in the bag above as well)

So I presume a guncase will fit as well. I don't have any guns (anymore) to test with though ..... was forced to leave them all behind when I moved here ....

Thanks for clearing that up sharkie. Did you have to slide the rear passenger seats up for the clubs to fit?

I've heard the Tiguan boot is ridiculously small so I'd be really disappointed if I couldn't fit my dirt bike in there. Although my Barrett .50 cal with 1000 rounds and bipod fits with ease as I found out on a recent rabbit shoot

I also have a "LARGE" golf bag chocka-block full of clubs, balls and other cr*p. Had to slide the seats forward a tiny bit and it fits on the diagonal like Pullstarter has shown. The pull buggy sits on top of it and doesn't touch the cover when the tailgate is down.

I reckon a gun case will be easier to fit as it's shorter and smaller than my golf bag. I don't have a Heavy Barrel .460 Weatherby Magnum though...
