Nobody is locked in even when the doors are locked. A simple double pull on any of the interior door handles opens that door whilst the rest of the car remains locked.

    Thanks Sharkie,
Will try the driver's door unlock tonight.

I like the idea of the auto lock feature but everyone else gets worried so i found it easier to just dissable it.
Easier to please the masses than to fight them.

    Okay found the solution.
Pressing the unlock button on the driver's door will allow the boot to open while the ignition is on.

Might have to see if i had the MFD settings changed as it should all unlock upon keypres but at least i have a solution.

Yep, that's what I told you at the beginning. It unlocks all doors. It, will not unlock them when you lock the car from the outside with the remote or key and leave the window down (it is deadlocked then). It means when the burglar smash the window, he still can't open the door.

    Interesting, i didn't know that.
I thought you had to press the lock button twice to double lock it (may just be a mk5 golf thing)

Well at least we have a solution now!

On the Tiguan with factory alarm pressing the lock (on the fob) twice disables the motion and tilt sensors in the car so that you can leave pets on-board or have it towed while locked.

There have been several in Melbourne in recent years — probably in Sydney as well. IIRC some have been quite nasty.

It's quite common in Sydney these days. Stealing a modern car is very tricky now, so the only way to do, it seems, is after the owner has unlucked it for them.

Same here if it's too hot a day or if it's for an extended time but if you're simply going into the shop and want the car locked so your car AND your pet don't get stolen then it works well (I haven't used it, my Maine Coon cat's bigger than a lot of yappy little lap dogs but he doesn't like car rides !!).

    Cheers
