Which Tiguan?

Hi All,

I'm an R36 owner and usually frequent the Passat section of the forum.

I'm considering a Tiguan for my wife for a family run around. MY11 onwards, not manual, leather ideally (seems rare from my searches thus far), budget of mid to high teens.

I'd appreciate any advice on which are the models to go for and which are the ones to avoid.

If you want leather you can probably get a 147tsi or 155tsi for around that budget, a lot have been optioned with leather seats. The 7 speed DSG is great and not the same model as the 7 speed that had some reliability issues in the golfs etc. Personal opinion whether you go petrol or diesel you can't go wrong with any of the 2 litre models, if you go petrol definitely leave enough in the budget for a stage one tune, makes it far nicer to drive and gives you some decent torque for over taking. Also a DSG tune is worthwhile considering as well.

personally i like my diesel, can drive Sydney to Brisbane on a tank.
It has heaps of power and diesel is about the same price as petrol
