Hmm, double bad luck.
I hope you get the Nuespeed swaybar replaced free of charge.
Tig's had a little noise under the tail lately...nothing major, just the odd clunk on our dirt-road driveway...
had similar issues with Golf MKV2.0TDI, and Forester before it, after having installed H/D rear swaybars...
thinking...must get that looked at, probably just one of the bolts a bit loose, translating into major clunks when, in reality, a couple of spanner turns should fix it...
Driving around in town yesterday during a dry spell, after weeks of torrential downpours and mud splattered wheels, tyres and everything else underneath, I saw a dry spot behind the parked Tig and thought, hell.., least I can do is have a look...
The Neuspeed swaybar had snapped...clean snap, bit dangling almost on the tarmac...
s**t, no wonder the car seemed a bit rolly polly in the corners...
luckily, tyre place could fit me in this morning, had the OEM bar installed, took some photo's of Neuspeed in situ, just to prove it wasn't as part of a big bang on suspension subassembly...mechanic was of the view it is a fault in the metal, also was right on the mandrel bend...
and then, and you will appreciate this team_v, after having treated the tig to a hand carwash while doing some after Christmas sales shopping..., and thinking now is the time to treat the newly cleaned wheels etc to a Nanolex treat, on opening the glove box i find the x-tra large nanolex spray container has cracked the lid and has been leaking in the glove box (i know, not the best spot to store it...)-and was completely empty...
2011 has got to get better...!
Hmm, double bad luck.

Man that sounds rough.
I was looking at a set of whiteline/H&R swaybars but thought i would hold off for a little while to see how the car beds in first.
I have heard Neuspeed gear is quite good so it could just be a bad batch of metal/the build process might not have been ideal.
Have you spoken to Neuspeed about the fault and asked for a refund?
That is a real shame about the Nanolex.
My plastic lid cover is broken but i keep the bottle outside the car so i haven't had any issues.
Hopefully everything goes well in 2011 for your Tig.
with the Christmas break etc. I haven't contacted anyone except an email to the reseller in Newcastle (who is probably still on his break)...feel reasonalby confident it will all work out, going by past experience with re-seller and reputation of product.
At least car is back to drivable with OEM swaybar...
team_v, I know i should have stored nanolex elsewhere...my lazy bad...
having said that, car looked pretty hot again after today's wash...must be nanolex residue from first application!
If nothing else at least it has proved the value of a swaybar in that you could notice the difference (bit rolly polly) when the rear one had broken.
I find the Nanolex will continue to seal for 3 months or so.
And now Car Care Products stock a naolex rehabilitating shampoo that provides additional sealing![]()
Yeah, any car cosmetics is best stored out of the hot. I store it in house, since even temperature in my shed or garage can get over 40C in summer for long enough to shorten the life of the product.

just a follow upon the broken H/R sway bar...
apparently mine was not the first to break...was offered to send it back for replacement but the freight costs to US and back, as well as the possibility of scoring another 'faulty' bar did not sound like a good idea.
However, reseller offered me an adjustable Whiteline H/D bar at cost (which was a whole lot cheaper than H/R to begin with and I ended up getting the anti-lift kit as well (at reseller's suggestion of good bang for the buck)
Just had everything fitted. Opted for the heavier 24mm as I previously had bar on strongest setting, and this would allow a bit more adjustment if needed. Started with "softest" setting and, together with lift kit, all i can say is wow, what a difference...!
I may at some time in the future go for middle setting, but with the increased turn in and firmer bar the Tig handles so much better.
Highly recommended!
It's good to have such a promising review of the whiteline RSB.
I will definitely be looking at this as an upgrade if i do supension/handling mods.
Hi there Tigga,
Just wondering if u could give an update in the Tig's Whiteline sway bar + WALK combi? Thinking if getting those to improve the Tig's handling. Mine's sitting in H&R lowering springs now and it feels great, but still a tad lacking. Just wondering how the sway bars and WALK are different for handling.
After reading their website, the WALK appears to be more for anti-dive/lift application w some caster whereas the sway bar is more for anti-twisting/roll. I want more responsive turning while keeping the Tig flatter still at corners. (not doing anything dangerous on the streets of cos).
Also, don't really understand what they meant for their sway bars on AWD applications: 'rear bars THEN front'. Does that mean front is optional or a must for AWD? I don't wanna overdo it.
And lastly, 22mm vs 24mm... Besides being stronger, is the 24mm much stiffer in feel? I know u didn't get a 22mm but was wondering what your perception / understanding would be.
Thanks for that mate. Hope u are still enjoying ur ride cos I am!))
