How much was the DSG re-flash?
Dingah
Yeah I'm struggling a little to know 'what is doing what'... The car just cracked 3000km but I had the ECU done day 1, and now the DSG and the Carbonio...
I mean the thing is soooo much more driveable, responsive etc.. So im assuming that is all in the DSG.. Its a bit quicker to respond.. Perhaps that is a combination?
Does anyone get a 'chirp' or what sounds like a quiet beep when accelerating hard.. (like foot flat)?

out of interest did you look at ABT at all? They offer a piggyback module which is not an ECU reflash as such and therefore can be removed at anytime and is undetecable. Also ABT match the factory warranty so there's less risk. Cost is much higher though ($3,390) and brings power from 155kw to 191kw

$2500 of the $3390 abt price is probably to cover their insurance in case the client's engine dies
based on my ownership of the EA888 TSI engine cars (GTI and Tiguan) for the last 4.7 years, the most likely thing to fail in these engines is the timing chain (which vw have had timing chain tensioner revision done a few times already). newer EA888 TSI engines with K03 turbos in the Tiguan are as reliable as they can get.
so, going with abt is probably not going to give much benefit over say $800 bluefin superships.

Yes, i evaluated most of the ECU products and DSG products on the market for the Tiguan over a 6 month period prior to purchase.
I'm sure that everyone has their opinion, but i decided to go with APR and Harding Performance, and I'm very happy with the setup.

Compared to software re-writes like APR, all piggyback modules or chips are very crude and really only take control of a very small number of parameters - that is why they are so easy to connect and disconnect which is their key attribute.

Upcoming upgrades
Supaloy Control Arms - APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
Sway Bars - APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
I'm also looking to fit the Turbo Muffler Delete... has anyone got a Tig with this fitted?

Just got our new family car, a Night Blue 155tsi R-Line with Sunroof.
Nice car, the R-Line body kit makes a bit difference to the look. Really happy with it, mostly for the wife and kid though Unlikely it'll get tuned, has enough get up and go for my Wife.
Man I want that that R line body kit, anyone know where to buy these for the 2012 models?
