I'll look to get some before/after runs with a GPS based timer. I don't have a v-box but do have access to a g-tec which is a very similar device with 10Hz GPS chip. I have found this is quite repeatable so even if it's not 100% accurate (i.e missed lead-in), it does give very consistent reading so the before/after comparison is still valid.

Awesome, I've got a gtech as well and it's reasonably accurate... It's hard to find a perfectly level strip for a run, unless it's a closed circuit strip...but as you say you can measure relative improvement in similar conditions.

I've got a stretch of "test road" that's pretty flat and only 20 minutes drive away. It's in a 110km/hr zone so I can do 0-100's legally.

Mrs tigger73 has been complaining that it doesn't go as well as the other one used to and that the gearbox doesn't shift as well... So looks like I might have to invest in some DSG software as well

OK quick update. Had the car tuned and run at the recent dyno day in Adelaide.
A nice 24kwaw gain and it's noticeably quicker.
As an interesting note my 125TSI stage 2 made the same power figure on the same dyno.

Tune is RD Technik stage 1. It's a nice linear tune. I've had APR on the previous car and it tends to be punchier down low but fall off at the top end. The RDT tune just pulls all the way to redline. It feels more factory but just stronger and freer running. I didn't get an overlay done but I'll plot the before and after onto the same sheet.
Yes the timer I've used is a G-tech unit. It belongs to another forum member.
