Interested to see how you find the coil packs.
I might source a set and get them put on when the car goes in for its next service.

In terms of performance there is no noticeable difference - though they do have an aesthetic appeal.
I put them in as a bit of insurance after I had a failure of a stock coil pack. Car was off the road for 3 days while I got it replaced.
After a bit of further investigation I found out it's not an uncommon failure in tuned VW's. The solution that a number of others have implemented is to put in the higher rated coil packs out of the performance audis as they are identical size/shape to "stock" VW ones.
They do look good (under the engine cover) but for me it was to make sure my car stayed on the road. Plus I'd hate for a coil pack to go while I was on a country trip. I now carry my "stock" set in the boot - just in case.
Installation is very easy:
- Remove engine cover (pops off),
- Unplug connector/harness
- Pull coil packs (you can get a special tool but a couple of zip ties works just as well)
- Install new coil packs
- Reinstall wiring harness and engine cover
Set of 4 can be done in 5 minutes
