Sorry Damien, I'm not a fan of the Savannah on a Tig in that finish, especially on a black car; they just don't stand out. (The photo above looks particularly bad given the tyre specs, but my opinion stands.) Whereas I love your OZs - perfect finish, perfect size:

I'm with Adam on this one, though i do reckon they would look nicer in silver for some contrast.

Your wheels look awesome on the Roc!

Yes I agree the OZs look awesome on the Roc. Though the Savannahs are pretty fat on it too.

I'm also not 100% convinced on the darker wheels on a black car. I'd probably prefer them to be the stock polished finish - especially given I'll likely be selling the car in the near future. So this is also a return to stock exercise.

Well it's not looking good for the painted Savannahs (wife says no to dark wheels too). These were originally a polished finish but due to damage to the surface finish they got painted.

Unfortunately there's too much work/cost involved to get them back to a polished/silver finish (sand blast and repaint) so I think I may have to let this one slide for now.

Just paint over the top the existing.

Yes but it will still be an additional cost to paint them.

Main reason that I'm interested is to return the car back to stock as I'll likely be moving the car on in the next little while (as long as I can find a suitable replacement).

This would have been a relatively painless change-over as we could both re-use our existing tyres on the new wheels. There are not so many OEM rims in 19x8 ET35(ish) as they are not a standard/option rim that is available.

If I have to get the rims painted it also means I need some wheels to run around on in the meantime. I do have some 18's in the shed but they really need new rubber.

It's going to be a tough one to replace the Tig.

    My criteria is:

    • AWD
    • Fit 3 growing kids
    • sub $50k
    • a good mix of handling/performance/interior finish

I'm seriously hoping that the MQB platform Tig comes out in the next 12 months. I drive 30-35,000km a year and I'm currently at around 80,000km now. So I need to move it on/upgrade in the near future.

Probably you may have to look some other brands as well. Jeep Grand Cherokee range may be. They have very nice interior and lot of toys to play with including paddle shifters. And if you are willing to pay bit they come in V8s too. Sub 5 secs to 100.
