Now that is a smooth power curve!
First time i have seen speed on the x axis rather than RPM.

Yes, looks great, Damien! Just after some scientific explanations... (again probably related to flywheel vs wheels quoted figures):

The losses through the drivetrain make sense & the gains from stock to tuned have been well documented here. The rather large increase in torque - stock to stage 1 (APR quoted) is something like 280Nm up to 400Nm.

I guess my main question is, is that max torque figure of 699Nm based on something other than the above figures?

Yes. Normal dyno operator was away so some of the results/graphs weren't set up quite as per normal. Speed instead of RPM on the x-axis and uncorrected torque vs derived torque being the other.

However in terms of comparison results you still get the picture of the relative performance of each car. Full results here: Dyno Day II - 8am Saturday 24th May

700NM or toque does sound like a lot.
I guess since we usually see Max torque not total, i don't know how to interpret that one.

Yes a few people have been asking the same question. Unfortunately the main dyno operator was away for the weekend and the figures we got for torque are uncorrected numbers. Usually people quote "derived torque" which is where the issue lies.

I'll talk to the workshop next week and see what the conversion factor is from one to the other.

Also to note is that the above dyno graph was done in 3rd gear. The 4th gear run produced 140.9kW and 483Nm which in terms of comparison of peak power is probably better. The 4th gear curve that I have is a bit "lumpy" as the operator had a couple of "false starts" as he couldn't put his foot flat until 4,000RPM without the DSG kicking down (even in manual mode). So I think he was a little overly cautious up until that point on this particular run which has resulted in a dip on the power and torque curve.

Peak torque (uncorrected) was obviously missed as it would be somewhere in the dip.

I'm only posting this result to give people an idea on some of the difficulties in getting a good run. The peak power figure is about right, however you can clearly see that the operator has backed off the accelerator to avoid kicking down but has probably backed off too far in this occasion leading to a lumpy curve.

With comparing apples to apples, i would probably expect to see a value around the 420Nm mark. But in saying that, i don't really have a clue!

So you have the DSG tune on this beasty and it still kicked down to 3rd under hard acceleration in manual mode?

Yes. I'll have to check whether it's an optional feature but I only have he basic DSG tune without any add-ons.

Running on the dyno is about the only time I would use the feature so probably not something to pay extra for. But yes it caused the dyno operator a couple of false starts as it kicked down causing him to abort the run.

Hence the reason why the operator was a little overly cautious on this run to make sure he got a clean run... But then by backing off the throttle a bit it stuffed up the results anyway.

Given that you've dynoed several times now, and considering the number of mods you've made and the focus on the numbers, I'd certainly be handing over a hundred bucks or so for the feature if I was you Damien.
