Guy has said that there is about 8% additional drivetrain loss in DQ500 compared to a manual. What sort of intake are you running?
I had a Carbonio and don't remember a massive drop off at 6000rmin so a decent CAI may be the way to go. For what its worth my Stg 2 made 160kw atw in a manual .....

^ thats a good point - what are your mods now Tigger?
VAR intake (got a pic so i can see how it looks on the Tig? Im running a hybrid intake using the VAR carbon airbox.)
VAR downpipe
APR stage 2 tune
If your intake includes a new pipe that goes past the battery, behind the engine and down to the turbo - can you show with a picture or explain what has happened with the MAF sensor (which is along side the battery on the TSI engines). Does the VAR intake use the stock plastic MAF housing or does it have a dedicated area on the pipework for the MAF sensor to be screwed in?
If so, then have you checked fuel trims? You might want a honeycomb MAF screen to straighten the airflow over the MAF too.
LOL, its a matter of diminishing returns though mate, Stg 1 in a manual makes ~150kw atw, so an extra ~10kw and ~20NM is what you get for the intake and exhaust ...... for me every kw always counts so worth it IMO ....
PS .... this thread and Guy's Stg3 build has now made me consider another Tiguan as a run-around to replace the Mk4

When comparing stage 1 to stage 2 results, even though stage 2 doesn't have a huge peak difference over stage 1, the torque curve holds flatter for longer (where as stage 1 torque builds, peaks and then drops off rapidly) with the free flowing down pipe making for a faster car overall and a smoother/more consistent power delivery.

re: drivetrain losses. My Legacy used to lose 30% through the Auto/AWD combo. Heartbreaking it was.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
Well at least I'm lucky enough not to have a 6 speed auto - although pretty indestructible they are a lot slower.
Lucas I'm currently running a stock intake which I have done for all 3 dynos. The only hardware change is that I fitted a resonator in the exhaust for the last 2 runs. So hardware wise the APR vs Viezu were identical.

...and speaking to Guy he also mentioned yours was a particularly strong car - outputs above average.
I do have a CAI but not on at the moment - I was running my stock intake when I had it dyno'd first and kept things the same for the following dynos. Will be putting it back on hopefully this weekend. I did have your old Carbonio but it ended up on Tiggy1's car
That's funny - I think it was a bunch of your posts that got me inspired originally

VAR intake is going back on shortly. It uses standard MAF sensor and everything bolts on (hose clamps) before the MAF - just connects up pretty much in the same place as the stock intake and pipework goes off in around the same direction (will check/take some photos when I change intakes).
I did see your honeycomb flow straightener. The flow comes from very close to the same location as stock pipework so I'm pretty certain that the readings would be similar.
