Keen to see how the plastidip and the super secret squirel mod goes.
I have now grown accustomed to the quietness of stock noise.

The effect of the Plasti-dip is a lot easier to see if you have two cars next to each other. It's chalk and cheese then.

I like this mod because it is subtle - looks a lot better but not really noticeable at the same time. My wife wonders why I bother...

Only possible downside is the rubber finish. Obviously the best would be to have colour coded paint, but for $50 for 2 cans of plasti-dip and a few hours on the weekend it's not bad.




Yes regarding secret squirrels, there's a few things going on in the back ground and I'll post up here when it's all done and dusted.

I find that a lot of the time, a visual improvement is more satisfying (to me) than a power/engine modification. The new tips definitely look nicer.

The new tips are probably 30mm shorter than the old ones and sit in closer to the rear diffuser. I think I prefer it as the old ones did tend to poke a bit too much for my liking. Anyway the old ones are off now and probably on their way to a scrap metal recyclers somewhere.

I'm picking the car up on Friday and it's going back on the dyno next week.

Anyone who knows me will know what I've been through to get the car to where it is today.

It's taken 2 years but hopefully the story is almost over.

When it's all done and dusted there'll be a big write-up and I'll included my take-outs/learnings for everyone here too.

The challenge has always been availability of hardware for the Tig and no one tuner/supplier having a complete package.

Plus trying to do it all on a budget with wife, 3 kids and a mortgage.

If I'd known then what I know now I'd probably have done it differently.... and I've just found out earlier this week that my vehicle can now be read over the OBD port so all the tuning tools should be able to do this shortly too
