    No worries mate.
Only learnt by my own experience and doing the hard yards myself.I fitted my own genuine towbar but as yet it hasn't been wired up.Wiring harness still sitting coiled up in the lower r/hand wheel internal storage area.
Maybe you can offer me a bit of advice! Do you know how the dealer went about wiring in the towbar harness on yours.
I didnt get the genuine vw harness due to exorbitant price charged the dealer, rather went thru aussietig's advice and purchased another european harness that's basically the same as vw's but half the cost.I am very hesitant about doing this job myself as I am told by a vw independant service place that the whole r/hand interior panels have to be removed to run the wiring in the proper channel up to a place behind the dashboard.I was later told by another vw dealer that my model Tig 2010 and beyond is part prewired for the towbar and the final hookup place for the wiring is under the hard cover on the left hand side of the internal boot.
Do you know if your dealer utilised this part of the factory prewire. It would make the job a lot easier to run the harness to this point rather than having to take all the other panels off on the opposing side.
If you can throw some light on it,it would be appreciated.Tks mate

Cant speak about your specific model Phil, but I was told by a VW independent that he took his vehicle to the stealers to have his tow bar put on, because of the complex and prolonged process required to install. he suggested that the wiring harness had to go all the way through the vehicle. exact route and panels unknown to me.

I took his advice and went to the stealers. As i previously stated I paid $1638, so the $1465 was viewed with Envy.

    Cheers

    Thanks mate for your response.
Yeh I was afraid that would be the case.
My fellas at Elite Euro in perth can do the running of the harness and the final hooking up,but it's just the thought of having to pull all of those panels [and possible clip damage.plastic.] that worries me.Hell it shouldnt be so frickin hard.

Does anyone know where I can get a bicycle number plate holder? My bike rack doesn't have a holder position and I was after an easy clip on soft rubber like one. NSW bike rack plate size.

I have never seen the one made of soft rubber, interested to see what it looks like.

And since your rack has no place to hold the number plate, you may consider Thule or Rhino light board that velcro to your bike.

Had the tyre pressure monitor (TPM) go off over the weekend. Promptly pulled out my tyre pressure gauge and sure enough one tyre was down 55kpa (about 8psi I think) and the others only 5kpa. Sure enough I had a large screw in the centre of the tread which was leaking.

Being 2:30pm on a Sunday the only tyre centre open was Kmart Tyre & Auto (Parramatta). Fortunately they could repair the tyre for $31.50.

Upon collecting I noticed large scratches on the repaired wheel. After mentioning it to the mechanic, he stated he would check if their machine did the damage if I came back another time. I got this in writing an returned the following day.

Spoke to the same mechanic who stated they would replace the wheel and admitted that an apprentice stated he caused the damage. Still waiting to have the new wheel fitted, but should be done soon.

Happy with he customer service from Kmart and my 18" New York alloys will still be immaculate.

Good to see the TPMS doing a good job there, but why, oh why is so difficult to have something done properly these days, the 1st time around??? Seems like a less than 50% chance of it ever happening...

I can't complain at least they are fixing it. I wasn't expecting to get a satisfactory result.
