The reason why ask is that my daughter is upgrading her Golf to Tiguan and I seriously thinking about 132TSI with the tiptronic rather than diesel with the DSG.

Have VW gone back to the tiptronic auto on the petrol Tiguans? Why would they do that?

Good question, why would they do that? Maybe they have too many tiptronics transmissions in stock or maybe it's something else?
We have tiptronioc in our TDI Tig and I can't fault it, you hear no complaints from people, unlike the DSG Tigs and Golfs.
