With tinting ... Just as a heads up, it's very hard to colour match the green tinge of the factory tint.
Certainly has been my experience.
But I might be more anal than most.
No such thing as over pampering, just a big boys toy. Takes me an hour and a half to wash/detail once a fortnight. I think at least 20mins of that is attributed to washing in a unit block.
Hope you're enjoying your Tig, great specs. Are you going to get tinting done? I'm thinking I'll get Rob that everyone (mainly golf owners) rave about.
I would have gone the diesel too except it's a town car that rarely gets of 80kph. I'll keep my eyes peeled for another good looking Tig. Enjoy!

Great thanks. Which film did you go for? Is there any reason you didn't go over the factory tint? I know, I know there is going to be a very simple reason as to why, but why not?
Two reasons ... legalities and insurance!
From memory, light meter placed against the factory tint on rear passenger & back windows came in between 33 - 34%.

It's right on the edge of legality certainly for NSW:

So that's why going another layer on top of the factory tint was not an option for me.
But like I've said, it's a PITA to colour match the factory tint when just doing the fricken front windows (aftermarket) that VW decided they won't do.
Another thing they fcuken fail to mention to prospective buyers of the top spec model!
I would much prefer if the bean counters (they hired) suggest growing revenue rather than cut costs!
And to go down to such a petty level of scrimping (as front window tints) is unbelievable.
How about selling your old brochures for $2 or something instead?
Hang on sec ... sorry some tight @$$e$ have thought of that already on eBay!
